BSc (Hons) Diagnostic Radiography

Overview

The BSc (Hons) Diagnostic Radiography is approved by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), allowing you to apply for registration upon graduation. Throughout the course, you will train in industry-standard facilities and gain hands-on experience by observing and practising diagnostic procedures.

You’ll develop expertise in operating advanced equipment such as the Shaderware virtual reality x-ray laboratory while studying the essential science behind accurate diagnosis. The BSc (Hons) Diagnostic Radiography course also focuses on building strong inter-professional and interpersonal skills to prepare you for real-world practice.

With a strong emphasis on practical learning, the program integrates evidence-based training, simulations, and placements. You’ll work directly with patients, clinical radiographers, and healthcare professionals both in the classroom and during placements.   • GCSE: Grade C/4 or above in English Language or Literature, Mathematics and Double Science, or equivalent. We do not accept Level 2 Key Skills, Functional Skills or Certificate in Adult Literacy and Numeracy as alternatives to GCSEs.

Diagnostic radiographers are in demand, with exciting career opportunities for graduates in the UK and worldwide. Our students go on to work in the hospitals within the region and also work nationally and internationally. Most of our graduates find positions in the diagnostic imaging departments of NHS Trusts. Others go into private healthcare providers or work in field hospitals for the forces.
