Attention Students!

We would like to inform you about a recent surge in cyber scams. Your security is of utmost importance to us, and we want to ensure that you stay safe from potential threats.

Scammers have been employing sophisticated tactics to deceive individuals and steal sensitive information. It’s essential to be vigilant and cautious when dealing with online communications and transactions.

For IHM’s students, it’s good to know that IHM’s bank account details are not shared through email. Instead, the information is accessible through the secure Student Hub under Student Invoice & Payment. This method ensures that only authorised users with secure login credentials can access and view the information.

Additionally, making payments through the MWT website provides another secure option for transactions, ensuring that personal and financial details are handled in a safe and protected environment.

For any questions or concerns related to payments or account details, students should reach out to MWT directly through official contact channels  to ensure the highest level of security and privacy.

FEE-HELP is an Australian Government loan scheme designed to assist eligible fee-paying students with the cost of their higher education. It operates in a similar way to HECS-HELP but applies specifically to students enrolled in fee-paying undergraduate, postgraduate, or vocational education and training (VET) courses at approved institutions.

Through FEE-HELP, eligible students can defer all or part of their tuition fees by accessing a government loan. Repayment of the loan begins only once the student’s income reaches the required repayment threshold, making higher education more accessible and financially manageable.

We support internationally qualified nurses through every stage of the Australian registration process. Below is a clear overview of the steps involved in achieving registration as a nurse in Australia.

Step 1: Self-Check

Internationally Qualified Nurses and Midwives (IQNMs) must first complete the Self-Check process before applying for registration. This online assessment requires candidates to submit details of their qualifications and professional background.

Based on the information provided, applicants are classified into one of the following streams:

  • Stream A – Qualifications are substantially equivalent or based on similar competencies to an approved Australian qualification.

  • Stream B – Qualifications are relevant but not substantially equivalent to an approved qualification.

  • Stream C – Qualifications are not considered equivalent or relevant to an approved qualification.

There is no fee to complete the Self-Check.

Applicants who do not meet the eligibility criteria under Section 53 of the National Law may be required to undertake further study in Australia before progressing.

Step 2: IQNM Assessment Process

Applicants who successfully complete the Self-Check must proceed to the IQNM Assessment Process.

A non-refundable assessment fee of AUD $640 is payable at this stage. This fee contributes to the cost of verifying documentation and conducting the assessment required by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

Step 3: Orientation – Part A

Candidates are required to complete Orientation Part A, which consists of a 90-minute online learning module followed by a knowledge-based quiz. This stage introduces candidates to the Australian healthcare system and professional expectations.

Step 4: Portfolio Stage

Applicants must submit all required and verified documentation during the portfolio stage. These documents support eligibility and compliance with registration requirements.

Step 5: NCLEX-RN Examination

The NCLEX-RN (National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses) is a computer-based examination delivered through Pearson VUE test centres worldwide.

  • Examination Fee: USD $200

  • International Scheduling Fee: USD $150

  • Total Cost: USD $350 (approximately AUD $504)

This exam assesses a candidate’s clinical knowledge, decision-making ability, and readiness for safe nursing practice.

Step 6: OSCE (Objective Structured Clinical Examination)

The OSCE evaluates whether candidates demonstrate the clinical competence required of a graduate nurse in Australia. It simulates real clinical environments and patient scenarios where candidates must assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care using evidence-based practice.

The OSCE fee is AUD $2,000, which replaces previous bridging program fees. This fee supports the delivery and administration of the examination by AHPRA and the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA).

Step 7: Orientation – Part B

Following successful completion of the OSCE, candidates undertake Orientation Part B, designed to further familiarise them with Australian healthcare systems, professional standards, and workplace expectations.

IHM’s experienced faculty—comprised of Australian-registered nurses—deliver this program using an interactive online learning platform. Students benefit from flexible, supported learning designed to accommodate working professionals.

Through this structured pathway, IHM equips internationally qualified nurses with the knowledge, skills, and confidence required to integrate into the Australian healthcare system successfully.
